While
the flagship for
Bosch
Motorsport
is the championship-winning Stone
Brothers Racing outfit in the V8
Supercar Series, its involvement
in motorsport goes a lot deeper
than just the upper echelon.
Bosch
is the major
supporter of the Confederation of
Australian Motorsports (CAMS) and
offers a range of support and
discounts to its 16,000 license
holders and 11,000 registered
officials.
Several
years ago
Bosch
also began an association with the
rising stars of Australian
motorsport through the National
Formula Ford
Championship.Construct

from a light-weight tubular space
frame and power

by a 1600cc Ford Fiesta engine
which develops more than 125
horsepower, Formula Fords reach

s in excess of 250km/h.
Formula
Ford is the world’s premiere
junior development category in
motorsport.
The majority of today’s
V8 Supercar drivers have graduated
from the highly-competitive
category into the top level of
Australian motorsport.
Mark
Winterbottom
, is one such
driver who has graduat
ed
from Formula Ford into V8
Supercars.
The young
Sydney
driver was support
ed
by
Bosch
through his campaign in the open
wheel
ed
Formula Ford cars and this support
continues through into the V8
Supercar championship.
After winning the V8 development
series in 2003, Winterbottom has
since mov
ed
into the top level of the sport
and is beginning to make his mark
with a podium finish at the second
round of this year’s
championship in
New Zealand
.
In
this year’s eight-round National
Formula Ford championship
Bosch
is supporting rising stars
John
Martin
and
Paul
Laskazeski
.
Both drivers have come from
successful careers in karting.
During
his debut year in Formula Ford
competition in 2005, Martin won 20
races across the State and
National series’ he compet
ed
in, including a round victory in
the final round of the National
Championship at Sandown.
He claim
ed
the Victorian State Championship,
the Formula Ford Cup at the A1
Grand Prix at Eastern Creek and
finish
ed
runner-up in the NSW Series.
Last
year Laskazeski became the
youngest ever winner of the NSW
Series and finish
ed
a narrow runner-up in the
Victorian.
His success earn
ed
him the outstanding CAMS Rising
star of 2005 and also the NSW
Rookie of the year award.
Already
this year both Bosch-back
ed
drivers have begun to make their
mark on the National Formula Ford
scene with
Martin
currently leading the championship
and Laskazeski in fourth.
The
National Formula Ford championship
is contest
ed
across all states of
Australia
alongside the V8 Supercar series.
