RUSSELL INGALL UNVEILS 2005
COLOURS
Bosch Motorsport’s Russell
Ingall officially unveiled his
new-look weapon for this year’s
V8 Supercar Championship Series at
today’s opening day celebrations
of the Brisbane International
Motor Show.
The BA Ford Falcon is a mixture of
Caltex green and silver with a
large Vortex 98 logo down each
side which will help promote
Caltex’s high octane fuel.
Ingall’s car will be on the
Hercules Carparking Solutions
display on stand C26 at the
Brisbane International Motor Show
at the Brisbane Convention and
Exhibition Centre until February
13. The stand is located on the
Aftermarket Concourse just outside
Hall 2.
Ingall’s race car, which will
make its debut in support races at
the Foster’s Australian Grand
Prix next month, has been built
from the ground up at the Stone
Brothers Racing workshop at
Yatala, half-way between Brisbane
the Gold Coast.
Ingall will fire the first shots
in his new car at the team’s
first test for the season at
Queensland Raceway in a couple of
weeks time.
“I think it looks pretty
mean,” said Ingall.
“I think the designers have got
it pretty right with this one,
although my cars in the last two
years with SBR have been terrific.
“The car should stand out well
on television and hopefully we
will get plenty of air time again
this season with our battles at
the front end of the field.
“I just can’t wait to get out
there and get on with it.”
Although Ingall finished second in
last year’s championship to team
mate Marcos Ambrose, Ingall will
continue to carry the number nine
and not number two on his Caltex
Ford in 2005.
“So many people have enquired
about which number we would be
using this season,” said Ingall.
“The only “floating” number
is number one and Marcos has that
on the side of his car.
“There is no doubt that I am
keen to wrestle it off him this
year and head into 2006 with the
number one plate on the side of my
Falcon.”
The V8 Supercar Championship
Series gets underway with the
Clipsal 500 in Adelaide on March
17-20.
